Oriental Beauty is produced in a unique dance of the natural world. A kind of katydid chews on the tea leaves in the spring. Then the tea trees produce a second flush with more tannin to discourage the insects, especially, katydids. The combination of katydids’ saliva, the added tannin and the tea processing then produces a very unique kind of tea.

Bai Hao Oolong has the highest oxidation among all Taiwanese tea and takes 3000-4000 buds to make a single pound. The infusion is sweet and fruity, with a tipsy aftertaste and a complexity that rewards for many steepings.
